Blogging Insights # 19 Writing Prompts
Questions:
- 1. Do you like to respond to writing prompts?
- 2. Do you feel that they add value to your blog?
- 3. What are your favorite kind of writing prompts?
- 4. Which ones are you less likely to do?
My Answers
Do you like to respond to writing prompts?
Yes, very much so… four years ago I tried only to do prompts that fit into my writing category. Then a friend challenged me to try fantasy. I fell in love with that category because it sparked my creativity even further. Now I search out different prompt ideas.
Do you feel that they add value to your blog?
Absolutely!! Not only do prompts show your peers all the subjects you can cover but when you pingback in the comments, you find other writer’s and they find you also.
What are your favorite kind of writing prompts?
I have 2 that I always return to each year.
- Putting My Feet in the Dirt—She does a list every month.
- See Jane Write– -Creator of #bloglikecrazy
Which ones are you less likely to do?
Honestly, I love a good challenge, so I will have to update this question if I find a prompt style I am not willing to attempt.

Hi Donna – I used to be a fan of writing prompts, but I don’t think most of them really work for my blog. If you’re a “writer” then I guess it opens you up to new thoughts and themes, but when you’re a more prosaic blogger like me, they tend to be a distraction. Interesting how it’s different for all of us isn’t it?

Yes it is interesting for sure. Thank you for visiting once again. I finally got a new laptop so I have been attempting to catch up with my favorite bloggers. The other one was 8 years old and finally gave out. Plus I wrote a letter to my reader’s about a family crisis.
