May Your Holidays Be Merry and Your New Year Be Bright!

May Your Holidays Be Merry and Your New Year Be Bright! This post will cover a Summary of 2023 and Plans for 2024! More short stories Tips and Recipes.

Here we are only 20 days left of 2023! I look forward to your 2023 Summary posts. Leave them in the comments for me to read!

I am going to focus on three 2023 posts, and how they affected my year.

Behind the scenes:

Friends, my writing was affected by family issues and no motivation in 2023. Here I sit with the Sunday football game in the background and next month we start playoffs. Where has this year gone? This is my third holiday as a widow and my second holiday home from the hospital stay.

How was your 2023? How did you take care of your health?

As I mentioned above, family issues played a role in affecting my 2023. The best thing I can say is that the issues caused me to search out ways to change how I handle situations. My favorite has to be Mel Robbins’s “Let Them Therapy.”

I have added listening to Mel Robbins’s “Let Them Therapy” to my nighttime routine. This has been helpful because some of those family issues include both of my children who are now adults moving back home temporarily and my grandson becoming a preteen and not having anything to do with his Nana at this time in his life.

Three 2023 Posts:

I am going to focus on three 2023 posts, and how they affected my year. The first post was; Food Trends and Thoughts 2023. The only food trend I have added to my 2023 home menu is an old trend to most, but my daughter bought an Air Fryer in October and I admit I enjoy it, I love “Biscuits” in the Air Fryer. They are so crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside.

The second post to revisit is 5 Actionable Tips on Hospital Stay & Minimalism. I shared 5 Actionable Tips:

  • 5 Actionable Tips:
  • Simple Routines can be inspiring.
  • Owning less is not a bad thing.
  • Living debt-free is fantastic!
  • Living a frugal life can save some stress.
  • Your family is not left going through your belongings.
  1. Simple Routines has always been a part of my life, writing down and posting my routines and goals where I see them has also been a part of my life. In 2023 I slacked on this area as others came into my house and attempted to change who I was as a person. In 2024 that will not happen.
  • 2. Owning less is not a bad thing., I have spent most of 2023 shredding documents that my late spouse could not let go of and began to organize a filing system that helps control my paper clutter.

  • 3. Living debt-free is fantastic! We will visit this further in 2024. Living debt-free is fantastic, there are so many resources and motivating ways to accomplish this matter.
  • 4. Living a frugal life can save some stress. We will also visit this further in 2024, Make sure you take a look at the new category tab called ” Frugal Widow”
  • 5. Your family is not left going through your belongings. This point may end up becoming number one in 2024 lists. It was just three short months after I became a widow, that my kids faced the possibility that both parents could be gone in 2021. Now more than ever I believe things should be in order.

Final 2023 post to share:

The final 2023 post to share is Five Easy Rules of a Frugal Widow. These five rules saved me in so many ways in 2021. Also, in 2023, people will with no doubt take advantage of a widow if she does not know what is going on with her finances or household. Bankers, online strangers, and even relatives all top this list. I watched my mother-in-law and my mom have to count on others to know their finances, I made sure I did not end up like that and I pray that any widow reading this will help new widows to understand how important this area is to focus on.

Plans for 2024:
