Orange-Soaked Pound Cake (from scratch)

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 oranges
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Method
Step 1
Bring butter & eggs to room temperature. In a bowl stir together flour, baking powder & nutmeg
Step 2
Beat butter with mixer, medium speed for about 40 seconds. Gradually add sugar to butter and mix until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Add eggs one at a time with a minute in between
Step 3
Gradually add the flour mixture, beating on low to medium speed just until combined
Step 4
Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. Bake at 350 for about 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean
Step 5
Cool on a wire rack for 10 minute and then remove from pan. Place 1 cup powdered sugar in a bowl, add the juice of the oranges to the powdered sugar and soaked the cake while still warm
Tips
Delicious, Orange-Soaked Pound Cake, which is from scratch, can be severed right away.
If you are single; Sliced, divide and frozen if you are on your own and want some later.
