New Years Eve

Where were you last night when 2019 turned into 2020?

The stroke of midnight came and went, here we are facing a New Year also a New Decade! Where were you last night when 2019 turned into 2020? I was at home, in the cozy condo. I had just walked into the door at 11:30 pm from one of the best New Year’s Eve I have had in a very long while.

Is that where you wanted to be?

Were you where you wanted to be at the stroke of midnight? I can honestly answer that I was not exactly where I wanted to be but I was where I thought I should be.

What I mean is that I left the cozy condo early evening and attended a church event. A caregiver is often isolated during that season of life and for this caregiver church and lunch out on Sunday’s is her time of renewal to face another week of challenges.

We had invited The Lester’s to sing for our church. The Lester’s as a family have been sharing music for 90 plus years now and the newest generation is in training. Then I went to a fun filled gathering where we ate delicious foods, had wonderful conversations and played Pictionary.

If your curious it was men against women and yes, the women won.

At 11:15 pm the game had ended and I decided to be home by the stroke of midnight because my spouse had been home alone the entire day. As I expressed, I was not exactly where I wanted to be, but I was where I thought I should be.

How do you measure?

One of my favorite songs asked questions like:

  • How do you measure an ocean?
  • How do you measure a sea?
  • How do you measure the blessings that he’s given to you & to me?

Listen for just a moment

As we begin this new year/new decade, think about your blessings. Are you able to measure those blessings? Do you leave behind some blessings to watch for a new blessing?
